Fosun group to build new tourism landmark in Sanya

The 2024 World Tourism Alliance·Xianghu Dialogue was held in the resort city of Sanya on Oct 30, announcing that the city would embark on constructing the Hainan Super Mediterranean Project.

The project is a new landmark product being introduced by Fosun International Limited comes in the wake of the established Atlantis Sanya.

The Hainan Super Mediterranean Project is to be located at Haitang Bay, the "National Coast" of Sanya, adjacent to the Atlantis Sanya.

The project's plan encompasses a cultural and entertainment center, high-end luxury hotels, a crystal-clear lake, fashionable sports, surfing, diving and various other product formats. In the future, it will form a super tourism resort cluster together with the Atlantis Sanya.

In contrast to the “lost ancient civilization” theme celebrated by Atlantis Sanya, the Hainan Super Mediterranean will focus on the concept of a "future technological civilization," establishing the world's first AI-themed resort area.

Planned applications include personalized room customization through AIGC technology, adaptive AI Agents for automatic room adjustments and a digital butler G.O providing 24-hour service.

What's more, the Hainan Super Mediterranean will utilize advanced technologies such as VR and AR to present immersive and highly interactive cultural and entertainment experiences.

The project plans to construct the world's first crystal prism immersive cultural and entertainment center – the Haitang Performing Arts Center – creatively presenting facade streaming shows, AI interactive shows, live electronics music performances, aiming to become a new cultural landmark in Sanya.

Chairman of Fosun International, Guo Guangchang, stated: "The construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port provides us with more possibilities. I believe that the Hainan Super Mediterranean will better serve visitors from around the world, helping Hainan to become a world-class tourist destination".
