Fun times in Sanya as Jiyang district welcomes upcoming Spring Festival

The first event of the 2026 Spring Festival Series in Sanya city's Jiyang district — called The Best Place for a Chinese New Year Gathering — took place with a bang on Feb 3 at Yalong Bay Beach, and will run until Feb 5.

The event features music, visual arts and coastal scenery to create an open, dynamic and above all fun celebration.

It also features multiple themed settings that combine the appeal of Sanya's azure seas, blue skies and its warm climate with the music theme — creating unforgettable experiences that can be photographed, interacted with, and taken away.

Here are the exciting activities planned for each day:

Feb 3: Join in assembling a giant-themed puzzle and leave your Chinese New Year wishes.

Feb 4: Collaboratively paint a cultural and tourism map of Sanya, using colors to express your blessings.

Feb 5: Enjoy live performances of classic songs, request your favorites and sing along, harmonizing with the sound of the waves.

After the event concludes, all art installations will be on display until Feb 8. Adding to all the fun, on Feb 7-8, there'll be a Fortune God parade, where gifts will be distributed.

Meanwhile, another event during Lantern Festival on March 3, which will feature activities like lantern riddles and a bustling market, should not be missed.
