Phase II of Sanya Maternal and Child Health Hospital launched

On Oct 29, the commencement ceremony of the phase II project of the Hainan Hospital of Shanghai Children's Medical Center and Sanya Maternal and Child Health Hospital was held.

The second phase of the hospital project has a planned total land area of 46.1 mu (3.1 hectares) and a total building area of 114,570 square meters. It is expected to hold 500 beds and has a total investment of 1.27 billion yuan ($174 million). It will be built into a hospital that integrates the functions of medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, disease prevention, maternal and child health care, rehabilitation, as well as public medical emergency and first aid services.

It will be built into a 3A-grade women and children's hospital, a regional children's medical center, as well as a children's and maternity public health emergency center in south Hainan.
