1st wholly foreign-owned hospital in Hainan FTP settles in Sanya

Sanya intends to help Singapore's Parkway Pantai Group launch the first wholly foreign-owned hospital project in the Hainan Free Trade Port, according to the Press Conference on the Achievements of the 2025 Global Industrial Investment Promotion Conference for the Free Trade Port on April 14.

At the conference, Sanya signed agreements for 30 projects, with the total amount of the contracts exceeding 35 billion yuan ($4.8 billion). Focusing on emerging industries, the projects include new ones in the life and health industry with strong policy guidance from the FTP, as well as major ones to expand and improve medical resources.

For example, in line with the national policy orientation of expanding opening-up pilot programs in the medical field, the project of inducing Singapore's Parkway Pantai Group to set up the first wholly foreign-owned hospital in the Hainan Free Trade Port was illustrated. In addition, Fangda Group plans to invest 5 billion yuan to build the Haitang Bay Medical and Health City Project, which focuses on high-end hospitals and medical health preservation and involves business hotels, high-end living communities, health and wellness centers, and other types of businesses.
