A Swedish delegation from the Nordic Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine recently concluded a fruitful study tour of Sanya Second People's Hospital, where traditional healing methods and cultural exchange created meaningful connections between the two countries.

The visit allowed Swedish participants to experience various TCM practices firsthand. They tried specialized techniques including scalp acupuncture, tuina massage, and five-element music therapy, gaining deep appreciation for China's medical heritage.

The cultural exchange proved just as valuable as the study of medical treatments. Visitors engaged in Chinese calligraphy, traditional dance, and mindfulness sessions featuring Tibetan singing bowl therapy. These interactive activities fostered genuine understanding and friendship between participants and hospital staff.

"We see this not just as a technical exchange but a meaningful cultural integration," said Xie Mengjiao, the hospital's Party secretary, expressing hope for establishing regular exchange mechanisms.

The tour also included visits to the hospital's international medical center and special outpatient clinic, demonstrating Sanya's growing ability to provide integrated healthcare services to international patients.

Local health authorities noted that the hospital's innovative approach to mind-body health, combining modern medicine with traditional wisdom and Hainan's natural healing environment, offers valuable insights for healthcare development in the background of Hainan Free Trade Port construction.
