5th Hainan film festival lauches global collection

On Sept 13, the 5th Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) hosted a launching ceremony for its global film collection at the Hyatt Regency Sanya Tianli Bay.

HIIFF is committed to strengthening cultural exchanges and cooperation, promoting the innovative development of the film industry, and fostering creativity in film-making.

The 5th HIIFF will make full use of the Hainan Free Trade Port's resources, and will adhere to market-oriented operations in order to explore its own unique development direction. It aims to create a cultural exchange window for China to deepen reform and opening-up to the outside world.

The "Golden Coconut Award" competition of the 5th HIIFF is divided into three categories: Feature Films, Feature Documentaries and Feature Short Films. There are 10 awards in total: Best Film, Best Director, Jury Prize, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Technology Award, Best Children's Film, Best Documentary, and Best Short Film.

This year's "Golden Coconut Award" registration period will end at 23:59 on Oct 15. The official website of the festival now offers a film collection channel. The selected films will be screened during the festival, and the winners will be announced at the closing ceremony.
