Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City (YZBSTC) in Sanya has recently been approved as a national offshore innovation and entrepreneurship base for overseas talents by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), becoming the second of its kind in Hainan province.

As of now, CAST has established 30 offshore bases nationwide.

YZBSTC has leveraged its innovative resources that revolve around its unique climate, oceanic depth, geographical location, green ecology, and scientific and technological platforms to establish a pioneering ecosystem.

It has focused on key industries such as tropical agriculture, deep-sea technology, life sciences, and the digital economy, introducing various talent policies and continuously optimizing the business environment to provide comprehensive and multi-dimensional support for innovation and entrepreneurship for talents from both home and abroad.

Officials from YZBSTC noted that being recognized as an offshore base this time is expected to help the city build an international demonstration area for talent innovation and entrepreneurship.

The institution is set to create a favorable atmosphere for overseas sci-tech talents to develop in Hainan, form a comparative advantage in attracting international talents for innovation and entrepreneurship, and invite more outstanding overseas talents to gather in Yazhou, jointly building a highland for sci-tech innovation.
