One-month countdown: Ethnic games preparations in full swing

On Oct 23, a news conference was held in Sanya for the countdown to the 12th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities, with just 30 days remaining.

The conference unveiled the latest progress in the preparations for the games, inviting compatriots of all ethnic groups to come together in Hainan to enjoy the event.

During the news conference, participants detailed the highlights of the games, volunteer organizations, transportation arrangements, its competition organization and logistics support.

The games will comprise six major events – the opening ceremony, closing ceremony, an ethnic group gala, torch relay, awards ceremony for performance events and sightseeing tours.

The opening and closing ceremonies will be held on Nov 22 and 30, respectively, at the Sanya International Sports Industry Park Stadium.

The ethnic group gala will take place at the Tianya Haijiao Scenic Spot, where a diverse range of programs, colorful activities and rich cultural displays will aim to unite people of all ethnicities in solidarity.

The head of the game's on-site command center said hosting the event is expected to leave an invaluable legacy for Hainan province and Sanya city.
