Venue named for Hainan film fest opening, closing ceremonies

The 6th Hainan Island International Film Festival or HIIFF is set to take place on Dec 4-10 in Sanya. The opening ceremony is scheduled to be held on Dec 6 and the closing ceremony on Dec 10, with both ceremonies happening at the Phoenix Island resort in Sanya.

Preparations for the stage setup at Phoenix Island for the opening and closing ceremonies are already well underway.

Additional parking spaces have been arranged, ensuring adequate parking for buses with 50 spots allocated and 687 sports for cars.

Emergency power and communications backup systems are in place. The event site has been meticulously optimized to include crowd controls, security checks, restricted area management, traffic guidance and emergency response measures.

Moreover, Sanya has adopted a combination of "open recruitment + local university student volunteers" to enlist over 200 volunteers to assist with various tasks during the film festival.

Following training, they’ll be stationed at different festival venues to ensure the smooth progress of all activities.

Leveraging the policy advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Port and the natural resources of Sanya, the festival aims to attract global film production teams to create and establish Sanya as an international film production hub.
