Hainan film festival to host 292 open-air screenings

The 6th Hainan Island International Film Festival or HIIFF – taking place on Dec 4-10 in Sanya, Hainan province – will host a slew of open-air screenings.

The festival's "Open-air Screenings" section will feature showings at various great locations including on the coast, on beaches, at poolside mountaintops, on lawns and in urban forests – where residents and tourists can enjoy movies at no charge.

Specific locations include the Honglong Street Beach in Tianya town, the mountaintop platform at Sanya Luhuitou Scenic Area, the large lawn at Anaya Sanya Community and Sanya Conifer Resort.

Others include the Sanya Summer Station, Haikou CAPE Commercial Street, the national-level tourist resort of Wanning Shimei Bay and the Cultural Square in Lingshui Li autonomous county.

The 6th HIIFF will feature 92 events and 292 screenings. It has a collection of outstanding films and diverse exciting activities.

Amid the gentle breezes that play among the island's coconut palms, attendees are being invited to immerse themselves in the raft of cinematic art – so they can embark on a journey into cinematic wonder.
