Concert effect boosts Sanya's local consumption

On the evening of Dec 31, 2024, over 10,000 fans from all over the country gathered for Zhang Jie's concert in Sanya, celebrating a joyful New Year together.

Zhang's Sanya New Year's concert, held from Dec 29 to 31, 2024, featured three consecutive performances, attracting 31,800 concert-goers and driving tourism consumption to 3.36 billion yuan ($458 million).

This concert saw an audience composition where 75 percent of attendees came from outside the province, drawing in many out-of-town visitors. This influx spurred consumption growth across various hotel, restaurant, and transportation sectors.

From Dec 29 to 31, Sanya accommodated 424,000 overnight visitors in commercial accommodation facilities.

Data showed that from Dec 27 to 31, 2024, Sanya's offshore duty-free sales amounted to 4.8 billion yuan.

The upcoming Spring Festival holiday includes festive celebrations, large-scale performances, sports events, and culinary delights that are set to create a vibrant festive atmosphere.
