2025 World Robot Contest Sanya Championship kicks off

On July 21, the 2025 World Robot Contest (WRC) Sanya Championship opened at the Sanya Mangrove Tree International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Dubbed the "Olympics of Robotics", this national-level tech competition will run until July 24, attracting nearly 10,000 young students from around the world to compete on a stage blending technology and innovation. 

The event features 19 categories, 47 sub-events, and 85 competition groups, including VEX series, ROBOG challenges, and SuperAI races, with participants ranging from elementary school to university. This marks the first time the WRC has been held in Hainan, showcasing Sanya's push to combine tourism and technology. 

Since its launch in 2015, it has drawn over 200,000 participants from 20 countries, with results included in China's academic evaluation system.
