Sanya Phoenix International Airport is really gearing up for the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday period on Oct 1-8.
That’s with preliminary forecasts indicating about 3,000 flight movements and 504,000 passenger trips taking place during the period.
To meet all the diverse travel demand, the airport has optimized its network, increasing capacity on key domestic routes like Beijing and Shanghai. Internationally, it currently operates 35 routes and will launch new services to Minsk, capital of Belarus on Oct 8 and to Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia on Oct 11.
Operational measures include enhanced coordination with air traffic control to maintain punctuality. Service improvements focus on higher bridge usage for aircraft parking and streamlined security processes.
Innovative measures, like color-coded notes with travel tips and dedicated channels for special assistance passengers, will expedite processing. Volunteer staff in blue vests will provide active support.
The airport has also deployed festive decorations featuring mascots "Feifei" and "Nixs" in terminal areas, creating holiday photo opportunities for travelers.
