The first special train since the inception of the island-wide special customs operations last December in the Hainan Free Trade Port was launched on March 18.

It left Haikou Railway Port to journey on to Guangzhou International Port in South China — establishing a new logistics route between Hainan and Guangdong provinces that is efficient, stable and eco-friendly.

The train's cargo follows the second-line customs ports policy rolled out under the new island-wide special customs operations — allowing for duty-free value-added processing.

By laying out an efficient collaboration mechanism, all the parties have created a fast track from factory to market — cutting the transport time from the regular five days to just 2.5 days, while completing the entire logistics process in under three days.
