Sanya city extends warm invitation to world

The Sanya-themed event for China Tourism Day took place on May 19 with a bang — together with the official launch of the fifth Sanya city tourism season.

To top it off, five highly anticipated major initiatives to boost the promotion of Sanya's tourism internationally were unveiled on the same day.

1. Global customer outreach.
This initiative supports tourism businesses in establishing a presence on major international social media platforms.

It offers training, practical guides and incentives to help businesses expand into global markets and improve their ability to attract international customers.

2. Enhancing inbound tourism spending.
The Passport Friendly program offers exclusive discounts and benefits to inbound tourists in partnership with top tourism businesses.

Overseas tourists can participate in rewards programs by sharing their travel experiences with Sanya-specific hashtags on major international social platforms, enjoying a range of perks.

3. International content collaborations.
This initiative partners up with businesses, international influencers and inbound tourists to create high-quality multilingual content, including photos, short videos and live streams.

It focuses on 11 types of tourism products — including vacations, marine and cultural tourism — to produce online content that helps boost Sanya's international profile and appeal.

4. Targeted overseas promotions.
Relying on 20 Sanya Overseas Tourism Promotion Liaison Offices located across the globe, this initiative regularly shares information about limited-time offers, special routes, packages and events from Sanya's tourism businesses.

By working with local resources, it aims to reach key markets and improve the effectiveness of international promotions and customer acquisitions.

5. Global communications collaboration.
This initiative creates a comprehensive global communications network that includes official social media, corporate overseas accounts and 20 Sanya Overseas Tourism Promotion Liaison Offices.

The aim is to unify promotional themes, share quality materials, plan collaborative topics and synchronize marketing efforts — to create a widespread, effective international communications strategy, boosting Sanya's global tourism presence.

Shifting from "Welcome" to "Global Sharing", the event, together with the initiatives, showcases a more open approach, innovative strategies and genuine engagement with visitors, as Sanya opens its doors to the world with a fresh tropical seaside invitation.
