On the evening of July 3, Typhoon Maysak, the 10th typhoon of the year, hit the coast of China's southernmost Hainan province and caused mayhem.
The coastal resort city of Sanya was lashed with a night of heavy rain and strong winds, leading to fallen trees and flooded streets and neighborhoods.
Municipal governmental departments responded quickly, clearing debris and draining the floodwater.
By July 5, in the aftermath of the typhoon, the city had efficiently cleaned up and begun restoring the community.
