Sanya set to stage World Dance Colosseum China 2026

The World Dance Colosseum China 2026 will be held at the Maotai Resort in Sanya's Haitang Bay on Aug 19-20.

A total of 520 top dancers from seven regional stations — Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Zhengzhou, Hefei, Nanjing and Changsha — will gather in vibrant Sanya to compete for spots in the world finals.

This year's competition includes categories like Popping, Locking, Hiphop Adult 2-on-2, and the Kids All Style 2-on-2.

Thrilling showdowns in the adult categories and lively performances in the kids' category are expected.

Five international guests from France, Japan, Italy and the US will be in attendance, along with five seasoned judges from China who'll bring their expertise to every highlight on stage.

The adult 2-on-2 battles will go from preliminaries to finals on Aug 19. Judges will score on fundamentals, performance, technique, musicality and diversity — allowing dancers to showcase the unique allure of street dance.

The Kids All Style 2-on-2 and group dance competitions will take center stage on Aug 20, focusing on choreography and musical interpretation — highlighting the vibrant energy of the new generation of dancers.

The event will also feature traditional performances from the local Li and Miao ethnic groups — blending modern street dance with cultural flair to offer the audience a rich visual and cultural experience.
