Since the start of the summer travel season, Sanya Phoenix International Airport has handled nearly 2,000 unaccompanied passenger trips, with a daily high of 99 trips.

To manage the increase in unaccompanied travelers, the airport has adopted a "layered and detailed support" strategy, ensuring every solo journey is warmly cared for.

The domestic terminal has dedicated lounge for unaccompanied passengers. It features comfy seats, children's books and board games — allowing unaccompanied kids to read and play, while older folks can relax and wait comfortably.

The check-in counter offers a seamless service process of priority check-ins, dedicated assistance, priority boardings and handover confirmations. Staff members provide special identification for unaccompanied passengers and ensure a "hand-to-hand" transfer from check-in to the aircraft door.

What's more, a dual-confirmation system for "passenger information + checked luggage" ensures accurate coordination and smooth integration with the flight crew.

This year, the airport introduced an intelligent service system for special passengers. Staff members can enter their passenger needs in real time, while the system tracks the entire journey, providing alerts at key points.

Parents can easily track their child's progress on their phones, with clear updates on security checks, waiting areas and boarding status.

To handle the peak summer travel rush, the airport has increased its staff in the check-ins, security and waiting areas — in a bid to maintain its high service standards, ensuring that even when passengers travel alone, they're well-supported.
