The 2026 National Fitness "Shenzhi Cup" Sanya 2nd Traditional Wushu Exchange Tournament kicked off on Sept 12.

The event attracted over 20 teams and nearly 200 martial artists from more than 10 countries, including China, Russia, the UK, Spain and the UAE.

Participants showcased their skills and shared the unique appeal of traditional Chinese wushu, bringing new energy to Sanya's fitness circles. At the well-organized event, the atmosphere was lively, with applause and cheers filling the air.

At the opening ceremony, over 60 international participants performed 13 forms of Shen-style tai chi. Their fluid and graceful movements perfectly captured the essence of Chinese wushu, making them the highlight of the event.

Many of the foreign competitors have devoted themselves to Chinese wushu for years and actively engage in local wushu events in Sanya, fully immersing themselves in the rich cultural heritage.

A participant from Russia said that the chance to spar and exchange ideas with martial artists from different countries is not only a valuable competitive experience but also a kind of cultural exchange that transcends borders.

Breaking down age and gender barriers, and with well-defined rules, the tournament provided a professional and high-level platform for martial artists worldwide, effectively promoting the growth and popularity of traditional wushu.
