The Hainan International Cultural Heritage and Art Exchange — located in Sanya, the resort city of China's southernmost Hainan province — has completed its main construction and is now in the final stages of interior finishing and landscaping.
Covering 75,000 square meters of floor space, the complex features an auction hall, exhibition space, trading center and a storage facility for relics and artworks.
Once operational, it will provide a comprehensive suite of services — including auctions, customs clearances, appraisals, bonded storage and logistics.
As a major project at both the provincial and city level, the complex houses both the Hainan International Cultural Heritage and Art Exchange and the Hainan International Cultural Exchange Center. It spans a total area of 169,300 square meters with an investment of around 3.7 billion yuan ($551.3 million).
On completion, the complex will create a vibrant seaside cultural hub, blending the arts, conferences, exhibitions, relics and artworks trading, and international exchanges, and significantly bolster Sanya's role in developing the cultural trade core of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
