Chinese, international volunteers join hands for beach cleanup

Recently, Sanya's Jiyang district organized a beach cleanup event at Dadonghai Beach. Dozens of international volunteers teamed up with local youth to help protect the beautiful shoreline.

In bright orange and blue vests, the volunteers collected plastic waste and cigarette butts on the beach. They cleaned every corner, including rock crevices and shaded areas, ensuring no litter was left behind.

In addition to the cleanup, the volunteers also mingled with the crowd, sharing knowledge about marine ecological protection with locals and tourists, even offering them small gifts for participating. In this fun and relaxed setting, the idea of protecting the ocean was promoted. Many locals and tourists joined the cleanup efforts, shifting from observers to participants.

"This event allowed international volunteers to actively participate in coastal ecological protection, improving the beach environment and fostering cultural exchange," said an official from Jiyang district.

Looking ahead, Jiyang district aims to enhance the impact of its international volunteer team, expand the volunteer base, and invite more foreigners to become as a vital force to spread civic spirit, thus creating more opportunities for cultural interaction and injecting diverse energy into the district's community development.
