Sanya launches Russian announcements on key bus routes

To effectively bridge the gaps in international travel services and enhance the experience for foreign tourists, Sanya Public Transport Group Co Ltd launched Russian-language announcements on Sept 15 on five key bus routes.

The routes in the tropical resort city of Sanya — located on the coast in China's southernmost Hainan province —connect the airport, popular attractions and major shopping areas.

In addition to Mandarin and English, the buses on the selected routes now offer clear and fluent Russian voice announcements. This thoughtful multilingual service has been well-received by many foreign visitors — showcasing Sanya's dedication to international hospitality.

Russian signs and menus were already common in shops along the route, and the multilingual bus announcements made Sanya's welcoming and inclusive atmosphere towards foreign tourists even more apparent, said a tourist. Many now feel city's international vibe is growing stronger by the day.

Besides upgrading the onboard announcements, related bus services have also improved. Earlier this year, Sanya added Russian labels at 76 major bus stops — including Dadonghai Square — ensuring comprehensive coverage for both onboard and external signs, effectively eliminating language barriers for Russian-speaking travelers.

With the peak tourist season fast approaching, more foreign tourists are visiting Sanya for vacations or extended stays. And in line with new trends in inbound tourism, Sanya is continuously enhancing its international public service system.

Russian instructions have become a regular feature on signs in major tourist spots, star-rated hotels, large supermarkets and main roads — fully catering to the travel, leisure and shopping needs of international visitors.
