The Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television, and Sports of Hainan Province has recently unveiled the logo for the Hainan Coastal Scenic Highway for further promotion, which officially opened on Dec 18, 2023.

The logo, "Pearl of the South China Sea," is exquisitely designed and rich in Hainan characteristics. The design team for this logo is led by Zhao Jian, one of the pioneering contemporary Chinese design artists.

 
The team also includes renowned professors and professional students from several domestic universities in the province.

 
Shang Xuecong, a design team member, said that during the design process, the team focused on Hainan elements, with road elements as secondary in the design style. The logo combines waves and the highway, resembling a crown or a beautiful floral wreath, with the surging waves seeming to lift a pearl.

The main line of the Hainan Coastal Scenic Highway spans 988 kilometers, passing through 12 coastal cities and counties such as Haikou, Wenchang, and Qionghai. It is connected to high-speed railways, expressways, and national highways, establishing a "fast-forward and slow-travel" transportation system.

 
About 84 scenic areas are along the highway, forming a "pearl necklace" connecting numerous beautiful landscapes across the island.
