Hainan debut flight to Uzbekistan operates from Sanya

Sanya Phoenix International Airport launched a new international passenger flight route on Dec 19 to Tashkent – capital of Uzbekistan – marking the start of operations of the first direct international flight there from China’s southernmost Hainan province. 

The Sanya-Tashkent route is being operated by Uzbekistan Airways every Wednesdays and Saturdays, using Airbus A321 or Boeing 787 aircraft.

Inbound flight HY509 departs Tashkent at 18:30 hrs local time and arrives in Sanya at 04:10 hrs the next day. Outbound flight HY510 departs Sanya at 05:40 hrs local time and arrives in Tashkent at 10:15 hrs.

Starting Dec 20, a second Uzbek airline – East Wing Airlines – will also  operate on the Sanya-Tashkent route.

The company will use Airbus A321 aircraft and operate one flight every Thursday – taking the number of weekly flights on the route to three.

On Dec 1, China and Uzbekistan signed a mutual visa exemption agreement for nationals of both countries. Under it, their citizens can enjoy a maximum visa-free stay of 30 days when entering, exiting or transiting through the other country.
