Sanya adds a direct flight to Tashkent

Uzbekistan Airways launched a direct flight between Sanya and Tashkent on April 6 — marking a major step in Sanya's connection with Central Asia and a milestone in the internationalization of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

As Uzbekistan's flag carrier and biggest airline, Uzbekistan Airways is a key player in Central Asia, celebrated for its safe, efficient and high-quality service.

Sanya has already attracted several national flag-carrier airlines — including Aeroflot, Belavia, Air Astana and Lao Airlines that operate international routes to Moscow, Minsk, Astana, Almaty and Vientiane.

The new Sanya-Tashkent route will make travel between China, Uzbekistan and neighboring regions more convenient — drawing more high-end tourists from Central Asia to Sanya and expanding its international tourism partnerships.

It will also strengthen air links supporting deeper economic, cultural and tourism exchanges between the Hainan FTP and Belt and Road countries.
