A promotional video for the 4th Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) was released on Nov 22. It uses romantic and poetic cinematic language, minimalist lines and melodious background music to send invitations to all film buffs and movie lovers around the world.
The clip comes in the form of a short romantic film featuring famous Chinese actors, actresses and directors including Hu Jun, Yan Bingyan, Li Chun, Liang Jingkang, Huang Jianxin and Dapeng.
It starts with a gradually brightening sea view. Huang, who directed the video, stands in the center of the picture, facing the sea. The light from the rising sun shines on the blue water. Afterwards people rush in from all directions, looking at each other, smiling, shaking hands, and hugging one another. Warm-colored bouquets are passed among people of different races, genders and ages.
The HIIFF aims to build a platform for diversified exchanges, allowing people from different countries and regions to gather in Sanya. It will build a bridge of communication and cooperation based on works of film, spurring ideological debate as well as cultural integration.
